Students' March on Congress for Bold Climate Action

On September 20th, 2021, we mobilized to take action and demand that Democrats pass a bold climate agenda while they vote for the reconciliation package: a fully funded Civilian Climate Corps and bold investment in renewable energy, public housing, transit, and schools.

virtual actions

When the COVID-19 Pandemic sent us packing, we harnessed activism in our own backyards. From California to the District of Columbia, we engaged our members in fighting for a Green New Deal.

basketball game banner drop

As a part of our divestment campaign, we dropped a banner and outfitted the GW College Dems in gear that reflected our message. It was epic.

rsc demonstrations

As a part of our divestment campaign, we stormed the Regulatory Studies Center’s 10th anniversary meeting, marched on President LeBlanc’s house, and spoke at the Board of Trustees Meeting.

Shut down dc

On September 23rd, 2019, we took to the streets to protest for climate justice.

Along with the Shut Down DC Coalition, students from GWU, American University, and Georgetown shut down the intersection of New York Avenue and 395 in Northwest DC. Backing up traffic eleven miles into Maryland, we took a stand against fossil fuel corporations to show them business would not continue as usual.

 climate strike

The September 20th Climate Strike was the largest day of action for climate justice ever.

On December 6th, as world leaders gather at the UN’s annual climate conference, young people across America joined a national #ClimateStrike to take the momentum from September to our elected officials’ doorsteps.

In September, many politicians shared nice words of encouragement. But, we didn’t walk out of school and work to earn their praise. We joined the #ClimateStrike because our lives depend on elected leaders treating this crisis like the emergency it is.

We strike in solidarity with the U.S. Youth Climate Strike Coalition.
